Loretta M. Ryan, 66, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison surrounded by her family.
Loretta (Lori) was born in Gratiot on Nov. 27, 1939, to Lester C. and Gladys Smith. Loretta is the oldest of five children and is survived by her brothers, Mike (Paulette) Smith of Cottage Grove and Robert (Linda) Smith of Waunakee, and sisters, Nancy Schara of Madison and Mary A. Ward of Baraboo.
Loretta spent most of her life working in hotel management, realty and sales in the Milwaukee, Madison, Oconomowoc and Baraboo areas. She was currently employed by Shorewest Realty in Oconomowoc.
Loretta is also survived by her husband, Raymond Ryan. Loretta and Ray were united in marriage Aug. 4, 1979, in Oconomowoc. Together they made their own "Brady Bunch" family when they joined her three children with his three children. She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Dillman of Sun Prairie and Darla Dillman of Oconomowoc; sons, Shane (Gina) Dillman of Germantown, Tom (Lisa) Ryan of Colgate, Mike (Michelle) Ryan of Hubertus and James (Beth) Ryan of Oconomowoc; 10 grandchildren, Chad, Rachael, Tayler, Corbin, Tina, Katy, Kendal, Jacob, Caleb and Maggie; and sisters-in-law, Ann Frye of Green Bay, Marg Ryan of Lake Geneva, Meg Ryan of Green Bay, Ethel Ryan of Hackensack, N.J., and Jean and Mike Ryan (brother-in-law) of Milwaukee.
She also leaves behind many other friends and relatives, including her very special friends, Jane and Craig Smith and Don Lemke. She also leaves her friends at the Baraboo Country Club, Specially Hers and all those she and Ray vacationed with every Christmas in Nassau, Bahamas.
She is prececed in death by husband, Virgil Dillman, her parents and her beloved dogs, George and Sheba.
Loretta loved and surrounded herself with the beautiful things in life. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Through the gift of organ donation, she hoped to give others the opportunity to also live their lives to the fullest.
Visitation will be held between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 Cross St., Oconomowoc. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service at St. Jerome Church, 211 S. Main St., Oconomowmoc.
