Richard F. ‘Dick’ Whitstone

Richard F. "Dick" Whitstone, 63, of Waukesha, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family June 30, 2006.

He was an altar boy and sang in the choir at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in his younger years. He loved music and was the original lead singer of El Rey and the Night Beats. He had a love of photography and worked his whole life with cameras. He became the proud owner and had operated, with his family, Colony Camera Shop in Wauwatosa for the last 43 years. He was an avid bowler at Fracaro’s for many years and enjoyed fishing, photographing nature and birds and started taking pictures as a youngster and sold some to The Freeman. Dick married his childhood sweetheart, Chris, and was a great father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by all.

He was the beloved husband of Christine for 46 years. Dick was the dear father of Rick (Lori), Debbie (Mark) Kusch and Phill (Pattie). He is survived by his grandchildren, Rachel (Wayne) Treep, Emily, Amber, Kelly, Amy, Kevin, AmyLee, Michael (Carie), James, Angela, Alison and Danial; great-grandfather of Ashley, Breana, Skylar and Alexandria. Dick is also survived by siblings, Virginia (the late Trino) Hernandez, Mary (Frank) Garcia, John (Ginger), Eleanor (the late Roger) Goodspeed, Larry (Jean), Joe (Geri) and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Katherine Whitstone and sister Ann Gonzales.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5th, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha with funeral services at noon. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
