Gerald H. ‘Gary’ ‘Sky’ Piotrowski

Gerald H. "Gary" "Sky" Piotrowski, 65, of Pewaukee, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee. Gary was born Dec. 10, 1940, in Stevens Point, to Harry E. and Theresa J. (nee Kowalski) Piotrowski.

He attended St. Mary of Mount Carmel Grade School and Amherst High School. In 1959, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Washington and Fort Lewis. He was deployed to Germany. After returning from the military, Gary worked at Wisconsin Motors in Milwaukee as a machinist for 28 years. After a plant closing, he then worked as a maintenance supervisor at Oak Park Apartments in Oak Creek.

In 1963, he married Patricia Galecke. They later divorced. He later married Anita Bell. After his retirement, he enjoyed carpentry work, dancing and was especially fond of polka music. He also enjoyed fishing with his wife and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Craig (Sarah) Piotrowski; daughter, Carla Piotrowski; stepchildren, Bonnie (Gary) Sorenson and Jonathon Bell; eight grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Louise) Piotrowski, Greg (Stacey) Piotrowski and Chris (Sue) Piotrowski; sisters, Bonnie (Ed) Mrozinski, Gretchen (Chuck) Diver and Gloria (Tom) Hunt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Audrey (Dave) Kedrowski.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Saturday, July 8, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 111 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. Private burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
