Robert A. Riley

March 18, 1924 - July 7, 2006

Robert A. Riley, 82, of Waukesha, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at LindenGrove Health Care Center. He was born in Kenosha on March 18, 1924, the only child to Robert F. and Florence (nee Arneson) Riley.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. He attended Marquette University for two years and also several years at Bryant and Stratton Business School. Robert was employed at Milchap Products from the 1960s until his retirement in 1984. He was a charter member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. On Aug. 21, 1948, he married the former Carol Janzer in Milwaukee.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Riley of Waukesha, and their five children, Kathleen (Donald) Ketterhagen of Lake Geneva, Mary Ellen (J. Michael) Ramstack of Lunenburg, Mass., James (Ann) Riley of Dousman, Carolann (Jeffrey) Kneser of Wausau and Colleen (J. Matthew) Holland of Dellwood, Minn. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, D. Robert (Mary) Ketterhagen, Paul Ketterhagen, Joseph Ketterhagen, J. Kevin, Kathryn and Jennifer Ramstack, J. Paul Riley, John Matthew Riley, Molly Riley, Jacob Kneser and Kathleen and Laura Holland; two great-grandchildren, Wilhelm and Milo Ketterhagen; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Patrick Holland.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral Mass on Monday, July 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave. (corner of Hartwell and Newhall avenues), Waukesha. The Rev. James Volkert will be presiding. Cemetery services with full military honors will be held following the Mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
