Hjordis S. Schober

April 26, 1921 - July 4, 2006

Hjordis S. Schober of Waukesha died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Hjordis was born April 26, 1921, in Drammen, Norway, the daughter of Hans and Karen (nee Bjšrnerud) Halvorsen.

On Oct. 6, 1945, Hjordis married Albert Schober in Drammen. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Hjordis enjoyed volunteering at the Retzer Nature Center and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary. For many years, Hjordis served as an Avon sales representative.

Hjordis will be sadly missed by her two sons, Jan (Chris) Schober of Waukesha and Robert (Monthira) Schober of Rockford, Ill.; her brother, Leif Halvorsen of Drammen; her sister, Greta Schultz of Wautoma; her niece, Karen (Brent) Wickerham of Greenville, Mich.; and many additional nieces and nephews on her husband’s side of the family. Hjordis was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Schober; sister, Erni Halvorsen; and parents, Hans and Karen Halvorsen.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday, July 15, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Jericho Cemetery in Eagle.
