Betty Jane (nee Zahnzinger) Keuper

March 6, 1919 - July 8, 2006

Betty Jane Keuper, 87, of Waukesha, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at AngelsGrace Hospice.

Betty Jane was born in Waukesha on March 6, 1919, the daughter of Ben and Edna Zahnzinger. Betty Jane was a member of Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha, lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star La Belle Chapter 40 and an honorary member of the North Prairie Firemanís Auxiliary. She also was a past president of the North Prairie Garden Club and a charter member and past president of the North Prairie Lioness Club. Betty Jane enjoyed being a homemaker, but her real love was spending time with her family.

Betty Jane will be sadly missed by her children, Col. Jack (Jessica) Keuper DDS of Beavercreek, Ohio, Nancy (Glenn) Koehn of Waukesha, Rod Keuper of Los Angeles and Penny (Jack) Heywood of Waukesha; her grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Evans, Karl (Melissa) Keuper, Mary jane (Roger) Koehn-Sullivan, Susan (Scott) Farkas, Heather and Brian Heywood; her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Charles, Tori, Meaghan and Ian; her step-great-grandchildren, Amber and Cody; brother-in-law, Howard "Huns" Keuper; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Betty Jane in death were her husband, Walbert G. "Wally" Keuper, on January 26, 2002; grandson, Kevin Keuper, in September 1988; brother, Robert Zahnzinger and sister-in-law Bette Keuper.

The family would like to thank the Oncology Department of Waukesha Memorial Hospital and the staff of AngelsGrace Hospice for the loving care for Betty Jane and support for her family.

The funeral service for Betty Jane was held Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N. Moreland Blvd. The Rev. Ralph Schultz officiated. An Order of the Eastern Star La Belle Chapter 40 service took place at 7:15 p.m. Visitation was Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
