Charles J. Mitchell
Charles J. Mitchell, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, July 21, 2006.
A dairy farmer until 1987, Charlie worked in Brookfield and Mapleton. Later, he worked for Jefferson County Farm Co. and drove a school bus for Jefferson Bus Co. He was an avid toy tractor collector and had two working tractors, a Farmall M and Farmall 300, which he and his son Chuck restored. Charlie enjoyed entering and driving his Farmall M in parades in Watertown and Ixonia. His favorite pastimes were visiting family and friends, spending time with his grandsons, going to toy tractor shows and county fairs, and faithfully following the Green Bay Packers. He loved to travel with his wife Gloria and late sister Joyce. Papa Charlie will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria (nee Hardy); his children, Chuck (Lori), Carol (Tim), Clint (Ellen), Dan (Shellie) and Cheryl; his grandsons, Kurt, Brian and Nicholas; and his sister, Betty (Ken) Effertz. Also surviving are other special family members and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Alma, and his sister, Joyce Letourneau.
