Merle J. Vick

June 12, 1918 - July 24, 2006

Longtime New Berlin resident Merle J. Vick, 88, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Woodland Health Care Center. He was born June 12, 1918, in Waukesha, to William and Myrtle (nee Staub) Vick.

On May 29, 1948, he married the former Irene Rommel. Mr. Vick retired from Golden Guernsey Dairy after 29 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing and traveling. He was an avid Cubs fan. He also farmed for 35 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene; their children, Sally (Florian) Schultz of Minocqua and Wayne (Patricia) Vick of Brookfield; grandchildren, Joseph Helminiak, Michelle (Robin) Parkinson, William (Debra) Schultz, Jolene Vick, James Vick and Keri Ann Schultz; and great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Brandon, Shauna, Hannah, Brook and Gabrielle. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Jean (the late Warren) Vick of Eagle. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one son-in-law .

Visitation for Merle will be held from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A family eulogy will be held at 4:30 p.m. Entombment will take place privately at Prairie Home Cemetery.
