Catarino'Cat' Monreal, 77, a long-time Waukesha resident, died Saturday, July 29, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his children.
He was born in Ennis, Texas on Nov. 25, 1928, to Fernando and Adela (Lucio) Monreal.
On January 21, 1956, he married the former Elizabeth Jimenez at St. Joseph Church here in Waukesha. Cat was a member of the National Guard and D.J. Martin, American Legion Post No. 8. He retired from Quality Aluminum Casting Corporation after 39 years. He also volunteered at the Red Cross, and in retirement, he worked for Stephan Fork Lift.
He is survived by his children, Anthony Monreal, Mike Monreal, Annette (Brad) Wagner and Theresa (Jose) Enriquez; grandchildren, Miguel and Mikayla Enriquez and Rachael and Nicholas Wagner; siblings, Virginia (Chico) Hurtado, Dora (the late Eddie) Rodriquez and Simon (Paula) Monreal. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth, a son FernandoﾒNando,ﾓ and three sisters, Hortencia (the late Raymond) Ojeda, Mary (Pete) Villareal and Mary (the late Tom) Montez.
Visitation for Cat will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., with prayers beginning at 12:30 p.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church for the 1 p.m. funeral Mass. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors.
