Leo E. Eckstein

June 27, 1922 - June 12, 2006

Leo E. Eckstein, 83, of the town of Genesee, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at his home.

Born on June 27, 1922, in the town of Brookfield, he was the son of Anton and Gertrude (nee Hurtgen) Eckstein.

A dairy farmer in the town of Genesee for many years, he also was retired from Waukesha Engine after 20 years of work. Leo was married to Grace E. (nee Batten) Eckstein.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; his children, Darlene McKerrow of Pewaukee, Donna Eckstein of Dousman, Richard Eckstein of Palmyra, Robert Eckstein of Whitewater and John (Diane) Eckstein of Palmyra; his sisters, Ursula Schiller of Pewaukee and Vivian Roberts of Waukesha; and his sisters-in-law, Lillian Eckstein and Judy Eckstein, both of Waukesha. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Eugene, Victor, Paul and Edward.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service Friday, June 16 at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. Burial is at 4 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Wales.
