Shirley G. Wery

Nov. 17, 1923 - May 13, 2006

Shirley G. Wery passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 82 after a long battle with kidney failure. She was born in Hartland to her parents, Adolf and Mary (nee Koch) Cammenga.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Bruce; daughter, Brenda (Dick) Herzog; and three beautiful granddaughters, Andrea, Carly and Jenna. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Tinnes and Mary Lou (Marlin) Storck; and her sister-in-law, Agatha DeMeuse. Kathy Herzog, to whom she was like a second mom, also survives her. Shirley was also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Arnold Wery.

Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Being a loving mother and grandmother were what she lived for. Shirley was known for her delicious pumpkin pies, her infectious sense of humor and her love of life itself. She touched the lives of many people on her life’s journey.

Special thanks to friends Heather and Nancy; the staff at Purity Dialysis, Oakhill Terrace, Heartland Health Care Center and AngelsGrace Hospice; and her team of doctors, Dr. Cantieri, Dr. Korker and Dr. Saeian.

Shirley’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 23 at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Everyone who would like to join the family is asked to please meet in the red zone of the parking lot.

When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see, that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
