Joanne Butterfield, 75, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Waukesha, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The former Joanne Frances Schmidt was born Aug. 25, 1930, in Neillsville to the late Frank and Helen (nee Pulvermacher) Schmidt. She attended grade school in Neillsville and then went to the convent in Manitowoc, where she graduated from high school and attended college. Joanne moved to Waukesha and on Sept. 11, 1953, was united in marriage with James R. Butterfield.
She was employed for O’Brien Portraits, The Freeman and for several insurance agencies in Waukesha. She was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.
Surviving her are her husband, Jim Butterfield of Beaver Dam; her daughter, Donna Rae Butterfield of Waukesha; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is predeceased by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at St. Katharine Drexel Church, located at 127 W. Maple Ave. A memorial Mass will follow at the church beginning at 11 a.m., where the Rev. Carlos Florez will officiate. The family suggests memorials in Joanne Butterfield’s name to the Beaver Dam Humane Society or the Waukesha Humane Animal Welfare Society.
