Catharina Radix, 81, of Okauchee, died Thursday, June 15, 2006.
Originally of England but of Dutch descent, she came to America in the 1960s with her two children. Catharina was a seamstress by trade in England and America, and here she brought in clients from all parts of the state. Her flare for politics came from her belief in standing up for what was right and, more importantly, not letting someone get away with something wrong.
Catharina was known for her love of animals, her kind and friendly nature, her charm and her flare for doing what is right. Her admirable demeanor was a draw for people and she touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Nan - We’ll miss you.
Surviving are her children, Nigel Newitt and Julie Ahles, both of Okauchee, and her granddaughter, Diana Dodd of Dousman. She was an avid animal lover and is survived by her 4-year-old dachshund George II, and her 3-year-old Husky, Cody.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 Summit Ave., Oconomowoc. A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society or the ASPCA in her name.
