Sister M. Ann Schoeller

Schoenstatt Sister of Mary

Sept. 21, 1916 - June 17, 2006

On June 17, 2006, Sister M. Ann was called into eternity.

She was born in Tailfingen, Germany, on Sept. 21, 1916. During the very difficult time of World War II, she entered the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary in Schoenstatt, Germany. In 1949, she arrived in Madison as one of our pioneer sisters. She worked first in Queen of Apostles seminary in Madison, then for some years in the Milwaukee area in domestic work and as a nurses aid. From 1970 to 1999, she selflessly served the sick and elderly in Divine Providence Hospital and Home in Ivanhoe, Minn. There, she willingly assisted many people with her prayers and nearness at the hour of death. After suffering a severe stroke in 1999, she was transferred to the provincial house in Waukesha.

Sister M. Ann gave much to others through her joyful disposition and sense of humor, even in the midst of great difficulties.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, June 19, and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Provincial House, W284-N404 Cherry Lane, Waukesha. A rosary prayer service will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Provincial House followed by interment at the sisters’ cemetery.
