Sylvia M. Romeo

Sylvia M. (nee Kutcher) Romeo, 88, of Pewaukee, was born to eternal life Wednesday, March 8, 2006.
Born July 20, 1917, in Watertown, she was the daughter of Joseph and Annie (nee Weiselas) Kutcher. Sylvia grew up in Beaver Dam and moved to Los Angeles in 1942 to work in a defense plant to help efforts during World War II. She colorized motion pictures for Hollywood Technicolor and worked on the Blackwidow airplane at Northrupt Aviation. That is where she met her future husband, Jim Romeo. Together they moved back to Wisconsin in 1950, settling in Pewaukee.
She was the loving mother of Donald Romeo of Mukwonago, Marlene Romeo of Pewaukee and Christine (Thom) Romeo-Heine of Nashville, Tenn.; beloved grandmother of Nicolas Romeo, Nathalee Romeo, Lucius Romeo-Fromm, Camille (Greg) Jackson, James Heine and Lily Heine; dear sister of Genevieve Soboleski and Gladys Schoenwetter; and fond of sister-in-law of Dorothy Kutcher and Nancy Behrend. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. Marlene lovingly cared for her mother for the past 10 years.
Preceding Sylvia in death are her parents; her sisters, Lorraine Schaefer, Adeline Baszynski and Margaret Elsie; and her brothers, Jack Kutcher, Don Kutcher and Calvin Behrend.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, March 11, at Yonke and Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. Private interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Beaver Dam.
