George C. Timper

George C. Timper, of Waukesha, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. He was 78.

Born Jan. 2, 1928 in West Milwaukee, he was the son of Charles and Rose (nee Berg) Timper.

George was united in marriage to Marilyn Schenck on Jan. 23, 1971. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan with the Occupation Forces after World War II and was a member of the First Cavalry Division. He was employed as an electrician, retiring from International Harvester, Milwaukee Works, and Kearney and Trecker. He was a member of U.A.W. Retirees and I.A.M. Retirees. He was a member of the American Legion Post 444. George was a dedicated volunteer at the Milwaukee Mile for 56 years as a member of the fire and safety crew and observers crew, supporting auto racing at State Fair Park. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing and his church family. George will be fondly remembered for his lively spirit and his love of family.

George will be sadly missed by his wife Marilyn of Waukesha; his son Gerald (Rosalie) Timper of Appleton; three daughters: Deborah (Roger) Schirpke of New Berlin, Carole (Rick) Strong of Milwaukee and Bonnie (Todd) Carpenter of Idyllwild, Calif.; and five grandchildren: Patrick and Kevin Timper of Appleton, Angela (Christopher) Wright of Milwaukee, Julie Schirpke of Milwaukee, and Christopher Schirpke of New Berlin. He is also survived by two sisters: Mildred Wallner of Minneapolis and Audrey Robertson of Milwaukee; and his mother-in-law Maxine Schenck of Waukesha, formerly of Reedsburg.

George is preceded in death by four brothers: Lee, Howard, Charles and Leroy Duewell; and 2 sisters: Lois Kohnke and Dorothy Gottinger.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 601 N. University Drive, Waukesha, with the Rev. Viviane Thomas-Breitfeld officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the service at the church. Burial will be at noon Wednesday, March 15 in St. Peterís Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Loganville.
