Marie M. Bayer

Marie M. Bayer, 94, of Waukesha, died Friday, March 17, 2006, at the Waukesha Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Oct. 3, 1911, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Daniel and Lottie (nee Carter) Landrey.

She was a graduate of Charles Emmerich Manual Training High School in Indianapolis in 1929. On Aug. 24, 1940, she married Henry Joseph Bayer in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death July 11, 1986.

Marie worked as a bookkeeper for the Labor Temple and Sears. She was also a faithful member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Dousman and the Senior Citizen Club in Oconomowoc.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Nancy (Don) Gross of Nekoosa and Haines City, Fla., Sally Petrakis of Waukesha, Joyce (Bob) Pillsbury of LaCrosse and Bruce (Heidi) Bayer of Waukesha; her 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, three sisters, one stepbrother and her son-in-law David Petrakis, who died in January 2004.

Private family services will be held with the Rev. Bill Key presiding. She will be buried next to her husband in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Dousman.
