James Richard Krause

Oct. 25, 1948 - March 21, 2006

James Richard Krause died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, after his long battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 25, 1948, in Milwaukee, Jim lived and worked in various capacities all over the world, but made his final home for the last 12 years in Waukesha County.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, which took him to many ports in Germany and the United States. He retired and married Frances Matlack Brewer on Nov. 28, 1981, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jim worked for 12 years as data processing

supervisor for Cryovac Corp. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1993 when Jim made the move to what would become his most personally fulfilling career: Krause and Associates Drywall Services, as owner and chief drywall installer.

The two most important facets in Jim's life were the value of hard work and the love of family. Surviving are his mother, Gloria of New Berlin; his wife, Frances; daughter, Heather (Michael) of Milwaukee; son, Sean of Pewaukee; two grandchildren, Jazzmin and Nicholas, and great-grandson, Trevor, all of Wichita Falls, Texas; brothers, Richard (Pam) of Missouri, William (Lynn) of North Carolina and Charles (Cindy) of North Carolina; sister, Kerry (Bruce) of Hartford; and many dear nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at the Clubhouse at Saddlebrook, N24-W24242 Saddlebrook Drive, Pewaukee.

Memorials may be made to either the Milwaukee County Zoo Elephant Compound, 1001 W. Bluemound Road, Milwaukee, WI 53226, or the Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 2675 N. Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.

One day when I leave this world,

I hope my friends will see...

That I tried to make a difference,

And lived accordingly.

I hope my family truly knows,

That I have lived my best...

And then remember me with love,

As I am laid to rest.
