Lifelong Waukesha resident Virginia Bahr, 88, died at her home Sunday, April 30, 2006. She was born in Waukesha on April 21, 1918, to John and Emma (nee Schmoller) Hendricks.
On March 11, 1939, she married William J. "Hans" Bahr. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 2005. She was the former vice-president of Hans Bahr Builders. She loved reading, her dogs, especially her chihuahuas, and playing cards with friends. She had been a study hall supervisor at Butler Middle School until her retirement. Virginia was famous for her chicken dumpling soup. Her infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving children, Deborah Bahr of Waukesha and Gary (Pat) Bahr of Wales; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Bahr; a sister-in-law Evelyn Juleen; and a niece, Judith Ross. Other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Esther Ross.
Visitation for Virginia will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, May 4, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A private burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
