Kenneth C. Berglin

Kenneth C. Berglin, 90, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Countryside Home in Jefferson.
He was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Shawano, to Walter and Alice Berglin.
Kenneth graduated from Shawano High School in 1934. At that time, his father was interested in raising trout in Mountain. Kenneth married the late Ida Mae (nee Bauerfeind) on Aug. 19, 1938, in Mountain, and they made their home there until moving to East Troy in 1951. They moved to Elkhorn in 1956 before moving to Palmyra in 1960. Kenneth is retired from Rushing Waters in Palmyra, where he was active in the fish raising business for 50 years (with patents in fish egg sorting). Fish were sold all over the United States and Canada. He was the originator and past president of the Wisconsin Trout Growers Association. In 1996, he was inducted in the Wisconsin Aquaculture Hall of Fame. He was an avid bowler (with a 300 game) and avid golfer (with a hole-in-one). He was also an active member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church, where he was on the church council and member of the menﾕs club.
He is survived by his two sons, Jack (Patricia) Berglin of Palmyra and Lyle (Kristine) Berglin of Palmyra; three grandchildren, Julie (Andy) Peters, Jim (Lisa) Berglin and Kimberly Berglin; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Peters, Alexandra Berglin and Tyler Peardon; and a very special friend, Geneoieve Holden. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida Mae; grandchildren, Robert and Michelle; and a sister, Alice Curtis.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, May 5, at Palmyra United Methodist Church, 122 N. Fifth St., Palmyra. The Rev. Karen Klatt will officiate, with burial in Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra.
