Patrick M. Shanahan
May 8, 1966 -May 15, 2006
Patrick M. Shanahan found peace surrounded by his loving family Monday, May 15, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer at age 40.
Patrick was born and raised in Mequon, attended Dominican High School and was a graduate of Marquette University. He was a proud Eagle Scout and enjoyed being outdoors with his father. He obtained his pilot’s license and along with his love of flying, he enjoyed refurbishing cars, gardening, traveling and, most of all, spending time with his family. He recently loved to volunteer at Brookfield Academy working in the Butterfly Garden and the "Annie" production. He was a talented design and software engineer at Wells Fargo, formally Strong Co. He previously worked at Astronautics Engineering Corp.
He is the loving and cherished husband of Andrea Mu–oz; devoted dad of Katherine, Matthew and William; beloved son of the late Leo and Mary Shanahan (Tom Ebert) and the late Carol Ringgenberg Shanahan; precious son-in-law of Peter R. and Pamela Mu–oz; loving brother-in-law of Peter J. Mu–oz.; and grandson of Frances Shanahan and Elizabeth Ringgenberg. He is also remembered by aunts, uncles, many cousins (especially Tom and Cathy), friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Joseph Shanahan and William Ringgenberg, and his special grandmother, Nancy Bruno.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Wong, Campbell, Schultz, Gaspari, Cady, Phelan, Haasler and Schneider; and the caring and compassionate staff at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital Cancer Center, emergency room and bone marrow transplant unit. We also want to thank our caring friends - Deborah Kim, Laura Quinlan and the Grove family.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Sunday, May 21, at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield. Committal services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon (please meet at cemetery).
