Gerald A. Ernst

Gerald A. Ernst, 63, of Elcho, died unexpectedly at home Sunday, May 21, 2006. He was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of George and Elfrieda (nee Gollinger) Ernst.
Gerald served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for his father in construction in the Elcho area. He moved to Milwaukee in the early ‘60s, where he worked in construction for Mueller Pipeline. He then worked at Kearney & Trecker Corp. in building maintenance. Until his retirement, he worked for Waukesha County in the maintenance department. In addition, he served on the Wales Volunteer Fire Department and owned and operated The Village Locksmith. Gerald moved to Elcho in 2003. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, wildlife, photography, Indy car racing and cooking.
He is survived by his children, Juli Ernst of Oconomowoc, Jami Ernst of Milwaukee, Gerald Ernst Jr. and Bonnie Wieselmann, and a sister, Janis (Peter) Norris of Canada. He is further survived by grandchildren, one niece, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service Thursday, May 25, at Bradley Funeral Home, 1550 Neva Road, Antigo. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Elcho.
