John Michael McIlhone

March 4, 1939 - May 24, 2006

John Michael McIlhone, 67, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at his Waukesha home.

He was born in Waukesha to John Leo and Catherine (nee Crowley) McIlhone on March 4, 1939. John attended St. Joseph Grade School, was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and was a graduate of Carroll College. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, Badger Candy Club, Wisconsin Food Brokers Association and Pi Beta Epsilon. John was an avid golfer and loved movies and books. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married the former Rose Derezinski.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose McIlhone of Waukesha and their three children, Jennifer McIlhone of Milwaukee, Katie (Jim) Heraty of Chicago and Michael McIlhone. John was expecting his first grandchild Sept. 6, 2006. He is further survived by a brother, Frank (Elaine) McIlhone and sisters, Margaret "Peggy" (the late George) Wussow, Noreen "Nikki" (Dennis) Filippelli, JoAnn (Jay) Weinkauf. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Co-celebrating the mass will be the Rev. Jim Volkert, the Rev. John Twomey, the Rev. Neil Zinthefer and the Rev. Gordon Weber. Interment will be private.
