Jeffrey M. Gruber

Dr. Jeffrey M. Gruber passed away after a courageous battle with a brain tumor Thursday, May 25, 2006, at age 58.
Jeff attended Loyola University in Chicago where he received his bachelorís, masterís and doctoral degrees in education administration. He greatly enjoyed the 12 years he spent as a superintendent of Mineral Point Schools and eight years as superintendent of the Hartland Lakeside School District. Jeff was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Nashotah and was involved with the Hartland Kiwanis Club and the Mineral Point Lions Club. He enjoyed raising horses, fishing, golfing, watching sports of all kinds and spending time with family and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Jane Wall, whom he married June 1, 1968. He is survived by his children, Beth (Timm) Goninen of Mineral Point, Jenny (John) Re of Delafield and Mike Gruber of Boston; his grandchildren, Justin and Hannah Goninen and Tyler and Cooper Re; and his mother, Margaret Gruber. He is further survived by his Aunt Irene and Uncle Dino Grilli, other relatives and numerous friends. In addition to his wife, Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Gruber, and his in-laws, Francis and Helen Wall.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral Mass on Friday, June 2, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 120 Nashotah Road, Delafield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for Jeffís favorite charities.
