Tommy Lee Thomas died unexpectedly Thursday, May 18, 2006. Tom was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Waukesha. He graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1969 and further attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as a journalism major. Tom loved to writing, making music and politics. Tom was the youngest write-in mayoral candidate in the city of Waukesha.

He was most recently married to Elizabeth (nee Varga) Thomas. Tom and Elizabeth worked together with their Poorest of the Poor Ministry, collecting and handing out food to the homeless, and happily creating music and comedy together.

Tom had a zest for living and loving, loving firstly his sons. He was the proud father of Trevor Lee (fiancee Erin Greene) Thomas, 22, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a current student of the University of Florida and front lineman for the Milwaukee Rattlers, and Troy Lee Thomas, 18, a student at University of Wisconsin-Stout and an accomplished athlete. These children were created in love with his wife of more than 20 years, Peggy (nee Scullan) Thomas. They enjoyed many good years together and are both so proud of their sons and love them deeply. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Sue Thomas of Merlin, Ore., and partner Randy Dalton of many years. She remembers the wonderful days when she would talk with her brother every single morning and their family’s Christmas and Sunday family lunches. Other surviving relatives include cousins Jody (daughter Jenny) Wriggly of Waukesha, who loved Tom as a brother and will miss his help and caring telephone calls, Jimmy Thomas of Menomonee Falls and Toni (Rick) Workowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Peter and Laverne (nee Kuswa) Thomas.
