Leonard J. Albee

Leonard J. Albee of Mukwonago passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at LindenGrove in Mukwonago. He was 88.

Leonard was born in Waterford on Sept. 10, 1918, the son of Lawrence and Nellie (nee Funk) Albee. He was a 1937 graduate of Waterford High School.

On Aug. 19, 1945, he married Mary Emma Colwill at the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago. Leonard was a World War II Army veteran. After the service, he drove milk trucks for John Colwill in Mukwonago. After the business was sold in 1968, he went to work for H. Fickau Building Center in Mukwonago until his retirement in 1998.

Leonard was a member of the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, a past grand master of the Temple Lodge #96 F. & A.M. in Waterford and was a current member of the Laflin/St. James Lodge #247 F. & A.M. and the LaBelle Chapter #40 O.E.S., both in Mukwonago. He was also a former village of Mukwonago trustee for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma; a daughter, Janine (Russ) Coley of Mukwonago; four grandchildren, Mary (Adam) Johnson, Michael Craig and Russell and E. Burton Coley; sister, Lois Geminer of Rochester, Minn..; two brothers, Winston (Ruth) Albee of Lyons and Eugene (Lois) Albee of Burlington; a son-in-law, Wayne Craig of Mukwonago; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jacqueline Craig; and three brothers, Harlow, Glen and Merle Albee.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. Masonic service Wednesday, Nov. 8, followed by the Rev. Rick Hartley, all at the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, 231 Roberts Drive, Mukwonago. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Knoll Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
