Karen E. Helmle (nee Danielson), Ph.D., 64, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006. She was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 21, 1942, to Edward and Petra Karine Danielson.
Karen received her undergraduate and masterís degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had a lifelong commitment to education, both as a teacher and administrator.
She was the beloved wife of the late John G. Helmle, whom she married Aug. 24, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2003 after 39 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Christine (Doug) Koehler and Scott (Janet) Helmle and proud grandma of Natalie, Sarah and Erin. She is also loved by her dear sisters, Dagny (the late Russ) Lithgow and Sigren (Donald) Farness, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Monday, Nov. 20, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
