Geraldine M. ‘Jerrie’ Goerke

Geraldine M. "Jerrie" Goerke of Waukesha, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 84. She was born May 19, 1922, the daughter of John and Matilda (nee Stumpf) West. Jerrie grew up in Appleton with her six brothers and sisters. In 1950, she married Douglas Goerke and together they lived and raised their two daughters in Waukesha.

In her early years in Waukesha, Jerrie worked at the Purity Bakery on South Street and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She often spoke of her fond memories during that time. Jerrie was a loving mother and grandmother who always had time for her family. She loved her home and taking care of her yard. Jerrie’s hobby was "crafting" and she made many beautiful things that will be cherished "treasures" by her family and friends for years to come.

Jerrie will be sadly missed by her daughters, Linda (Ron) Sallmann of Dousman and Dawn (Mike) Traub of Helenville; six grandchildren, Josh (Chris) Sallmann, Eric (Windi) Sallmann, Amy (Colin) McCarthy, Nathan (Maggie) Omick, Renee (Brent) Schunk and Michelle Traub; four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Douglas, and brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at 12:30 p.m. Burial to immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to AngelsGrace Hospice, W359-N7430 Brown St./Highway P, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
