Wesley O. ‘Bud’ Kennedy

Wesley O. "Bud" Kennedy, 74, of the town of Sullivan, died Sunday evening, Nov. 19, 2006, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Tomah, the son of Forest and Ruby (nee Hartley) Kennedy.

On June 16, 1950, he married Helen Williams in Nowalk.

For the last 15 years, Bud had been a self-employed painter. He also farmed, drove a truck, made cheese and worked with blacktop and cement. Bud was an avid hunter and enjoyed shooting pool and darts.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Kennedy of Sullivan; daughter, Donna (Ed) Barten of Ladysmith; brother, Luther Kennedy of Sullivan; sisters, Janice (Ray) Preinfalk of North Carolina, Donna Mae (Wesley) Buttke of Neillsville, Ella Shulka of Lake Geneva and Bonnie (Richard) Tietz of Watertown; his grandchildren, Shelby Savin and Amanda Barten; his great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Bailey and Kylie; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Ruby Kennedy; his sisters, Glennie Read, Iola Crouch and Sandy Kennedy; and his brother, Forest Kennedy Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Nov. 24, at Hafemeister Funeral Home, 611 E. Main St., Watertown, with the Rev. Lee Meissner of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown officiating. Burial is at Norweigen Cemetery in Ixonia.
