Raymond S. ‘Sonny’ Brueser

Raymond S. "Sonny" Brueser, 74, of Mukwonago, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Born on Jan. 12, 1932, in Milwaukee, he was the son of Raymond and Emily (nee Maternowski) Brueser.

He attended Pulaski High School. On Nov. 5, 1955, he married Carol Jodat in Milwaukee. From 1954 to 1963, Sonny was a police officer in Milwaukee, and he later worked for 24 years as an officer in Mukwonago, until his retirement in 1992.

Raymond served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He was a member of the Mukwonago American Legion Post 375, and loved bowling, fishing in Canada, cooking and baking.

Surviving are his wife Carol Brueser and his children Kurt Brueser of Mukwonago, Wade (Rose) Brueser of Mukwonago, Holly Jo (Dale) Orgas of East Troy, Julieann Woppert of Milwaukee, Reid (Diane) Brueser of Oconomowoc and Bart (Denise Garcia) Brueser of Muskego. Also surviving are his sister Lois (Robert) Hammond of Franklin, his grandchildren David, Sylvia, Angie, Gisela, Wyatt, Cassandra, Stephanie, Ariel, Rhiannon, Lucas, Joey, Christy, Matthew, Jessica, Nick, Alyssia, Brooke and Max.

He is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Emily Brueser and his twin sister Raelene Katzung.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. service at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home in Mukwonago. The Rev. Steve Huff will officiate. Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
