Joseph L. ‘Joe’ Klemeneic

Joseph L. "Joe" Klemeneic of Three Lakes, a former longtime Waukesha resident, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, at age 68. Joe was born Sept. 14, 1938, in West Allis, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Hutchinson) Klemeneic Sr.

He was united in marriage to Betty Greb on April 27, 1957, at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha, where he was a member. He later became a member of the First Congregational Church of Eagle River. Joe was known for his talents in archery, obtaining state and national championships, as well as a world team championship. He also was an avid bowhunter, and loved hunting and fishing.

Joe will be sadly missed by his wife, Betty of Three Lakes; four children, Kim (Mark) Leppin, Amy (Jay) Petrie, Jodi Petre and Sheri (Scott) Donovan, all of Waukesha; grandchildren, Brian Staab, Crystal and Nikki Petrie, Jessie and Tyler Petre and Scotty and Sammi Jo Donovan; two great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Quintin; his mother, Ruth Klemeneic of Plainfield; three brothers, Robert (Diane) Klemeneic of Watertown, Tom Klemeneic of Menomonee Falls and Patrick Klemeneic of Plainfield; one sister, Mary (James) Noack of La Crosse; and Oreo, the wonder dog. Joe is preceded in death by his father and his brother, Michael.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 1, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
