Gordon ‘Gordie’ A. Bromley

Oct. 21, 1928 - Oct. 5, 2006

Gordon "Gordie" A. Bromley of Waukesha died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 77. He was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Kenosha, the son of Edward and Jordis (nee Johnson) Bromley.

Gordie married Gwen Healy on Jan. 16, 1960. He also served honorably in the Army during 1950-51. Gordie loved the family cabin, which Gordie’s father built up north in Land o’ Lakes. He made frequent trips up there to hunt and fish. Gordie enjoyed the lake so much that he would travel up during the early spring to shovel snow so he had easier access to the cabin. One of Gordie’s favorite past times was working on his favorite car, the Suburban, and spending time with his dog, Ruby.

Gordon will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Gwen; three children, Eric Bromley of Waukesha, Andrew (Kay) Bromley of Appleton and Peggy Bromley of Waukesha; three sisters, Elaine Bromley of Wauwatosa, Beverly (Lynn) Turkelson of Columbus, Ohio, and Lois (John) Kromm of Hartford; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Edward Bromley.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Oct. 8, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, with the Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Salem Cemetery in Wales.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at LindenGrove - Waukesha, Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Oncology Alliance and especially Dr. Federico Sanchez for his concern.
