Shirley passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, Oct. 23, 2006. She was born Jan. 23, 1929. She lived her life in Waukesha, graduating from Waukesha High School in 1948.

She worked for various businesses in the Waukesha area, including Waukesha State Bank, A&P grocery and Amron, finally retiring from Crestwood Bakery. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha, belonging to several women’s groups.

Shirley is survived by her son, Dewey (Jeanne) of Holmen; three grandsons, Dewey III (Kelie) of Fredericksburg, Va., Matthew (Stephanie) of La Crosse and Michael (Christina) of Holmen; and one great-grandson, Dewey IV. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Crystal Coerper.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Elliott and Kurt Coerper.

Mom enjoyed life to its fullest. There were many special people who helped make her life special. We would like to especially recognize the staff members of the Marion House, the caregivers of Waukesha Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center and Gyros West restaurant, where she enjoyed her weekly breakfasts for many years.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, with a 10:15 a.m. memorial service at Waukesha Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center, 1810 Kensington Drive, Waukesha.
