Gilbert ‘Gibby’ Gilbertson

Gilbert "Gibby" Gilbertson, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Eagle River Memorial Hospital in Eagle River.
He was born Nov. 26, 1931, in Palmyra.
Gibby was a resident of Sugar Camp on Sand Lake since 1988. He was married to Sharon Gilbertson. He retired from Waukesha Motors after 42 years of service. Gibby loved hunting, fishing and woodworking, and especially loved his family. His memberships included the Easy Eagle in Eagle River and the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department, and he was a former supervisor of the Palmyra Village Board.
He is survived his wife, Sharon Gilbertson of Sugar Camp; his daughters, Holly (Gary) Etzel of Oconomowoc, Sue (Dave) Burlingham of Fond du Lac, Cindy Aurit of Milton and Carrie (Tim) Zachow of Appleton; his son, Chad (Paula) Gilbertson of Markesan; his stepdaughter, Cindy Bev of Glendora, Calif.; and his stepsons, Michael Books of Hartland, Mitchell (Paula) Books of Eagle and Mark (Ann) Books of Hernando, Fla. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, Dave (Richelle Kohl) Bickle of Minocqua; his former wife, Ann Orchard of Palmyra; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the family’s home.
