Lydia Laak (nee Rusch), 92, of Oconomowoc, formerly of Dousman and Waukesha, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006. She was born Aug.18, 1914, in the town of Maine. She married William Laak on Sept. 10, 1938.
She is survived by her children, DuWayne (Jan) Laak of Minocqua, Glenn (Nancy) Laak of Madison, Jean (John) Truesdale of Whitewater, Marjorie Wheaton of Sullivan and Kristine (James) Schoolcraft of Mukwonago; 13 grandchildren, Brian Laak, Douglas (Jessica) Laak, Claudia Laak, Trevor (Laura) Laak, Mathew Laak, Elizabeth (Dr. Thomas) Witek, Sara (Matthew) Mooney, Cory (Scott) Yost, Dean (Nichole) Wheaton, Bradley Baker, Jennifer Baker and Ben Schoolcraft; and nine great-grandchildren, Amber Laak, Autumn Laak, Alex Witek, William Witek, Tucker Wheaton, Grace Mooney, Alise Mooney, Ella Yost and Ava Yost. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Ida Rusch; her husband, William Laak; sister, Gertrude Mussell; and brothers, Carl and Daniel Rusch.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave. (Highway 67), Oconomowoc. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Oct. 30, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church, 312 N. Main St., North Prairie. Interment will be in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Bend.
