Stanislavs ‘Stan’ Repsa

Stan Repsa, 90, of Waukesha, was born to eternal life Friday, Oct. 20, 2006.

Born to Jazeps and Emilija (nee Kokins) and raised in Aglonas Pagasta, Latvia, Stan, his wife and infant son escaped communist rule during World War II and fled to a displaced persons camp in Germany until the war ended. At that time, a small farm community Lutheran church in Georgia sponsored the family to come to America. After completing servitude time on the farm, the family settled in Milwaukee.

Stan retired from Koehring Co. in Milwaukee after 36 years of service. Many of his Latvian friends also worked there.

He is survived by his wife, Helena; two sons, Janis "John" and Juris (fiancee Nancy); daughter-in-law, Nita; two granddaughters, Melissa (Terry) Stardy and Marianne (John) Weiss; three grandsons, Matthew (finacee Samantha), Christopher and Alex; two great-granddaughters, Ryan and Madison; two great-grandsons, Ashton and Gabriel; along with other relatives and friends in Wisconsin, Texas and Latvia.

A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 23, at Wisconsin Memorial Park South Chapel, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Interment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Church and Chapel Funeral Home in Waukesha, 549-0659, served the family.
