Laurel ‘Bud’ Roach

Laurel "Bud" Roach, 83, of Oconomowoc, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at AngelsGrace Hospice.

He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Walworth County, the son of Ember and Esther (nee Harwood) Roach.

On March 1, 1947, he married Phyllis Ridgman in Fort Atkinson. He worked as an assembler for Waukesha Foundry. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Bud was a member of the Oconomowoc YMCA.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Roach; his half sister, Patricia (Harold) Baaken of Madison; his brother-in-law, Gerald Ridgman of Dousman; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ember and Esther Roach, one sister and one brother.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Nov. 2, at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. Burial is at the Town of Summit Cemetery.

Memorials are appreciated to the Oconomowoc YMCA, AngelsGrace Hospice or Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
