Catherine L. Healy

Catherine L. Healy of Waukesha died Sunday night, Sept. 10, 2006. She was 98. She was born Dec. 28, 1907, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Alfred and Rose (nee Gallagher) Lehman.

A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Monmouth, she was later married at that church on Aug. 8, 1936, to L.J. Healy. Catherine was employed by Bankers Life Insurance, Midwest Credit and state Rep. Sam McGrew, and was a member of the St. William Christian Church and the churchís womenís group.

She is survived by her son, John C. (Jackie) Healy of Waukesha; her daughter, Melinda Green of Roseville, Ill.; grandchildren, Deb Green of Springfield, Mo., Joan Green of Albuquerque, N.M., Jessica (Jason) Skudlarczyk of Waukesha and Jim Healy of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and her great-grandson, Brenden Dix of Albuquerque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Healy, on March 21, 1984; her parents, Alfred and Rose Lehman; and her brother, Al Lehman.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Watson Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary St., Galesburg. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2401 N. Broad St., Galesburg. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Galesburg.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Seasonís Hospice and LindenGrove Nursing Home for their care during the past year.

Memorials in Catherineís name are appreciated to the American Diabetes Association or the Immaculate Conception School in Monmouth.
