Michael W. Wilke

Michael W. Wilke, 66, of Waukesha, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006. He was born in Madison on Feb. 27, 1940, to Wayne W. and Louise (nee Wakefield) Wilke.

He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving for 22 years in the U.S. Army. On May 27, 1982, he married the former Katherine Campbell. He volunteered at Avalon Manor and Oak Hill Terrace. During the school year, Michael served as a crossing guard at Lowell Elementary. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Katherine of Waukesha; along with their children, Michael Wilke Jr. of Sturgeon Bay and William Wilke of South Carolina; and stepchildren, Dean (Jennifer) Binder, David Binder and Doreen (William) Mitchell, all of Waukesha; and grandchildren, Dave Jr., Angela, Samantha, C.J., Brandon and Madeline. He is further survived by his sister, Mary (Michael) Kloth of Waukesha; nephews, Christopher (Nicole) Kloth of West Bend and Ryan (Pam) Kloth of Waukesha; and other relatives and friends.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 15, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. Highway 59, Waukesha. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
