Catherine L. Healy

Catherine L. Healy, 98, of Waukesha was born to eternal life Sunday night, Sept. 10, 2006. She was born Dec. 28, 1907, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Alfred and Rose (nee Gallagher) Lehman.

A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Monmouth, Ill., she was later married at that church on Aug. 8, 1936, to L.J. Healy. Catherine was employed by Bankers Life Insurance, Midwest Credit and state Rep. Sam McGrew. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church. She also was a member of St. William Christian Women.

She is survived by her son, John C. (Jackie) Healy of Waukesha; her daughter, Melinda Green of Roseville, Ill.; grandchildren, Deb Green of Springfield, Mo., Joan Green of Albuquerque, N.M., Jessica (Jason) Skudlarczyk of Waukesha and Jim Healy of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and her great-grandson, Brenden Dix of Albuquerque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Healy, on March 21, 1984; her parents, Alfred and Rose Lehman; and her brother, Al Lehman.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the Rosary at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Watson Funeral Home, 1849 N. Seminary St., Galesburg, Ill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2401 N. Broad St., Galesburg, Ill. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Galesburg.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at LindenGrove Nursing Home and Seasonís Hospice for their care during the past year.
