Dwight A. Ridley

Dwight A. Ridley, formerly of Hartland, was born to eternal life surrounded by his family Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at age 79.
He was born in the town of Merton and farmed with his father, Carl. In June 1951, he married Shirley J. Wallschlager and continued living and working on the family farm. In 1959, they moved to the town of Lisbon and he began working for Hornburg Motors and continued working there when the business was purchased by Jack Safro in 1987. He semi-retired in 1995 and began working at Silver Spring Golf Course. In 1997, he returned to Jack Safro and worked until December 2001, when he retired due to health reasons.
Dwight is survived by his daughter, Susan (Myron) Schultz; his sister, Hazel Meissner; his brothers-in-law, Lester (Darlene) Wallschlager and Dale Wallschlager; and his sister-in-law, Ruth Markey. Many nieces, nephews and friends further survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and his sister, Sylvia Bartlett.
The family would like to thank Vitas Innovative Hospice for all the care and concern given to Dwight.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral service Friday, Sept. 22, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Ave., Hartland. Burial will be in Lisbon-Merton Union Cemetery.
