Phyllis Agnes McAuliffe

Phyllis Agnes McAuliffe, 86, of Waukesha, died Sept. 21, 2006.

Born on July 15, 1920, in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of the late Agnes T. and Joseph Koscielnlak.

To her family and friends, she was known affectionately as "Dolly." She attended St. Josaphat parochial school, Bay View High School and Spencerian Business College. A professional musician throughout her life, she was a member of the Musicianís Union-Local 8, the Milwaukee Civic Symphonic Band and the West Allis Civic Band, as well as smaller ensembles in the greater Milwaukee area. Using her professional secretarial skills, Agnes was employed by various government agencies, including the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Complex in Milwaukee. She also served as a legal secretary in private enterprise.

In 1946 she married Edward McAuliffe, and their marriage lasted 57 years until his death in December 2003. The couple spent their later years residing in Waukesha. She will be well remembered and deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made over the years in her personal and professional activities, all of whom were dearly loved and important to her.

Surviving are her children, Claudeen (Dave) Wiley of Neosho and Kevin of Las Vegas; her sister, Ruth (Raymond) Podiazewski of State College, Pa.; and her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Pamela, Kim, Kenneth, Robert and David.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Agnes and Joseph Koscielnlak, and her husband, Edward J. McAuliffe.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Private burial is at St. Adalbertís.
