Florence M. Williams

Florence M. (nee Winchell) Williams, 92, of East Troy, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in Oconomowoc. She was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Waukesha County, the daughter of Henry and Martha (nee Williams) Winchell.

She was a graduate of Waukesha High School and Racine County Normal School. Florence married Lloyd Williams on Dec. 24, 1941, and they lived in Union Grove before moving to the East Troy area. She was a school teacher and a homemaker most of her life.

A longtime resident of the greater East Troy area, she was an active member of the First Congregational Church - United Church of Christ in East Troy, and the church was very important to her. She also was a member of the East Troy Seniors group. In her neighborhood, she was known for her preserves and desserts.

She is survived by her children, Roger (Judie) Williams of Salem, W.Va., Loren (Katherine) Williams of Madison, N.J., Timothy (Diane) Williams of Hartland and Dr. Tom (Marlys) Williams of Delafield; grandchildren, Lee, Brent, Ted, Ben, Matt, Polly and Adam; her great-grandchildren, Reed and Catherine (C.J.); her sisters, Ester and Betty; and her brothers, Bert (Elaine) and Ken (Audrey).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Williams; her brother, Willard; and her sisters, Eva and Janette.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service today, Sept. 26, at Legacy Funeral Services, 2974 Main St., East Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are greatly appreciated to the First Congregational Church - United Church of Christ.
