Oct. 8, 1952 - April 2, 2007
Julie Forrest passed away Monday, April 2, 2007, at Florida Hospital-Hospice Flagler in Palm Coast, Fla., with family and friends at her side.
A memorial service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour.
Julie will be remembered for her devotion to animals, particularly homeless animals in need of love and care. No matter if the creature flew, swam, ran or slithered, Julie did not hesitate to give all of her care, love and compassion. Julie was a 16-year volunteer at the Flagler County Humane Society, where for many years she went to the shelter late at night to make sure that any animals who had been dropped off after hours were safe and brought them inside to make them comfortable and got their needed attention.
Julie was also an active member of the Flagler County Home Builders Association and was well-known for her willingness to volunteer her time to their fund-raisers and activities. She was born in Milwaukee.
Julie enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling, particularly cruise ships - the bigger, the better - that took her from Aruba to Mexico and all points in between.
Julie is survived by her father and stepmother, Gordon and Mary; daughter, Rebecca; husband, Russ; her close friends and caregivers at the "Baby Boomers Club"; as well as the many friends and acquaintances that she made during the 19 years that she lived in Palm Coast.
