Michael Lombardi III

Michael Lombardi III was called to heaven Thursday, April 19, 2007, at West Allis Memorial Hospital with his loving family surrounding him. Michael was born Oct. 23, 1931, the son of Michael Lombardi Jr. and LaVerne (nee Kissling) Lombardi.
Michael graduated from Waukesha High School in 1950. After high school, he attended Marquette University, studying engineering. He served in the U.S. Army and then began his engineering career at Allen Bradley in Milwaukee. He then worked for General Motors Corp. and the Square D Company. Mike retired form General Motors/Delco Electronics, where Mike was involved in engineering the guidance systems for the Apollo space program. Later in his career, he worked in automotive quality control as a senior reliability engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (nee Koehn). He is the dear dad of Debbie (Fred) Fuller of Waukesha and Jeff Lombardi of Waukesha and loving grandpa of Katie and Nikki Hipke; Mariah, Jessica and Cristine Fuller; and Angela, Carolann, Jennifer and Kristen Lombardi. He is further survived by his sisters, Betty (the late Moe) Tio of Waukesha, Nancy Geszvain of New Port Richey, Fla., and Sandy (Jack) Wise of Madison; sister-in-law, Calma Lombardi of Waukesha; his brother, Bob (Carol) Lombardi of Waukesha; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Mel Lenk of Salt Lake City, Bill and Anita Koehn of Delafield, Doug (the late Dorie) and his new wife Jelene Peot of Waukesha and Mary Amberline of Garland, Texas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is also remembered as the special "uncle" to all of the Orozco children and their families.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, April 23, at King of Glory Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4330 S. 84th St., Greenfield, with the Rev. Frank Janzow officiating. Private family entombment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.
