Robert A. ‘Bert’ Retzlaff June 23, 1954 - Aug. 19, 2007 Robert A. "Bert" Retzlaff of Venice, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at age 53. He was born June 23, 1954, in Milwaukee, and had been a resident of Venice for more than 20 years. Bert was very much involved with the curling club in Wisconsin and also played soccer. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1308 and the American Legion, both in Venice. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Retzlaff. Survivors include his mother, Joan Retzlaff of Wisconsin; his companion of 16 years, Debbie King of Venice; brothers, Ronnie Retzlaff of Colorado and James Retzlaff of Wisconsin; sisters, Susan Rilling of Colorado, Barbara (Bryan) Retzlaff of Wisconsin and Elizabeth (Larry) French of Colorado; four loving nephews, Dan, Doug, Travis and Samuel; and a fond brother-in-law, Don Rilling. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, love of life and family. Always a quick thought and wit to share. He touched many lives and will always be remembered and loved. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Chapel of the Chimes, Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
