Robert A. ‘Bert’ Retzlaff

Robert A. "Bert" Retzlaff of Venice, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at age 53. He was born June 23, 1954, in Milwaukee, and had been a resident of Venice for more than 20 years.
Bert was very much involved with the curling club in Wisconsin and also played soccer. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1308 and the American Legion, both in Venice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Retzlaff.
Survivors include his mother, Joan Retzlaff of Wisconsin; his companion of 16 years, Debbie King of Venice; brothers, Ronnie Retzlaff of Colorado and James Retzlaff of Wisconsin; sisters, Susan Rilling of Colorado, Barbara (Bryan) Retzlaff of Wisconsin and Elizabeth (Larry) French of Colorado; four loving nephews, Dan, Doug, Travis and Samuel; and a fond brother-in-law, Don Rilling.
He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, love of life and family. Always a quick thought and wit to share. He touched many lives and will always be remembered and loved.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Chapel of the Chimes, Wisconsin Memorial Park.
