Catherine M. Adler

Catherine M. Adler, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at age 92. Catherine was born in Waukesha on March 2, 1915, the daughter of August and Rose (nee Buchta) Sobrofski.

She was united in marriage to George on July 27, 1946. She was a charter member at St. William Catholic Church. Catherine was employed as a secretary at Waukesha Motors for more than 50 years and was a member of their Old Timers Club. She was also an avid bowler with the Waukesha Bowling Club and a member of the 200 Club. Catherine loved to travel, especially with members of her family.

Catherine will be sadly missed by her husband, George; brother, Andrew "Andy" Sobrofski; nephew, Jim (Pat) Sobrofski; niece, Marybeth Weber; great-nephews, Matthew (Sara) Sobrofski, Brian (Angela) Sobrofski, David Sobrofski and Justin and Jeffrey Weber; great-niece, Bethany Weber; great-great-nephew, Ben Sobrofski; and great-great-niece, Allyson Sobrofski. Catherine is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Matthew, Charles and William Sobrofski; and sisters, Rose Sobrofski and Helen Price.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Friday, Aug. 31, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Leonard Barbian will officiate. Entombment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.

Memorials in Catherine’s name may be directed to St. William Catholic Church.
