Kenneth L. Jones

Kenneth L. Jones, 53, of Janesville, died peacefully at his home Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 31, 1953, in Waukesha, a son of the late Gordon C. and Genevieve (nee Horres) Jones.

Ken graduated from Colby High School in Colby and later Waukesha County Technical College with an associate’s degree. He married Ruth A. Paulson on June 11, 1976, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton and he was the facilities director at Beloit College for many years. Ken served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Aug. 1, 1973, until he was honorably discharged Dec. 18, 1975. Ken is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton and the Montello Gun Club. He was a very avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, golfing and a few trips to the casinos.

Ken was very proud of his family and always looked forward to spending time with his three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two children, Kristopher (Jennifer) Jones of Milton and Kimberly (Jason) Short of Janesville; and three grandchildren, Kaya Lyn Jones, Stephany Nicolle Jones and Jayahr Kenneth Short. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Daniel (Peggy) Jones of Sheboygan, John (Mary) Jones of Fort Atkinson, Carol Jones of Waukesha, Barbara (Louis) Nagy of Necedah, Patricia (Dean) Colburn of Dousman and Michael Jones of Montello; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rose (Ray) Schmeiser of Wausau, Rita Paulson of Texas and Rick (Sue) Paulson of New Richmond; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws and his brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, 828 S. Janesville St., Milton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton with Msgr. James Uppena officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery with full military rites provided by Kienow-Hilt Post #1621.
