Elyse Idel Dyer

Elyse Idel Dyer, 88, of Washburn, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at Northern Lights Health Care Center, in Washburn.

She was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Ladysmith, the daughter of Jack and Borghild (Evenson) Larson.

In 1939, she graduated from Walker High School in Washburn and later that year married James Dyer in Ashland. For 25 years, Elyse worked in Waukesha. For 17 years, she worked for GTE Waukesha and also delivered papers for The Waukesha Freeman. Elyse loved life, her children, gardening, people, animals and flowers, especially, yellow roses.

She is survived by five daughters: Donna (Ken) Jacobi, Racine; Sharon (Ben) Inman, Washburn; Terri (Dean) Reinholz, Brookfield; Wendy (Pat) Maney, Falling Waters, W. Va. and Cindy (Mark) Schultz, Johnson Creek; three sons, Gary Dyer of Florida, David (Leona) Dyer, Greenfield; and Michael Dyer, Wauwatosa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lynnette Corinne, Washburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Dyer; two grandchildren, Brian Dean Jacobi and David Dyer Jr.; and a sister, Evadine Haukey.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at Frost Home for Funerals, in Ashland, with Pastor Leo Lawver officiating.
