John P. Forester

John P. Forester, 84, of Waukesha, formerly of Grand Haven, Mich., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at his daughterís home at. John was born on July 16, 1923, in DuQuoin, Ill., the son of Walter and Edythe Forester.

He graduated and received his law degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Joan Johnson in 1946 and began his legal career on LaSalle Street in Chicago, then moved to California in 1965, where he worked with Carnation Milk. John worked with several firms until he retired as director of the legal division for Amway. In his retirement, he and Joan worked diligently to protect the environment and preserve water quality in western Michigan and Hamlin Lake. He also served of counsel at Saunders, Winter & McNeil. Of all of Johnís passions, his greatest love was being with his grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by his children, David Forester of Grand Rapids, Mich., Marjorie (Vaughn) Morrison of Lowell, Mich., and Alderman Peggy (Tom) Bull of Waukesha; his grandchildren, Alayna, Drew, Leslie, Andy and Kari; other relatives and many friends.

John is preceded by his wife, Joan, in September 2005.

There will be private services for John at a later date.
